10 Bruce Springsteen Quotes to Celebrate the Birthday of "the Boss"

If you're a fan of "The Boss" then September is the perfect time of year for Bruce Springsteen quotes. Why? Because Bruce's birthday is on September 23rd, and we're ready to help him celebrate. Whether you've been a fan since the early years or are new to Mr. Springsteen's music, these ten quotes will help you get to know him a little bit better.

1. "Blind faith in your leaders, or in anything, will get you killed."

2. "Poor men wanna be rich, rich men wanna be kings, and a king ain't satisfied till he rules everything."

3. "Music was my way of keeping people from looking through and around me. I wanted the heavies to know I was around."

4. "I was nine years old when I saw Elvis on 'Ed Sullivan', and I had to get a guitar the next day. I stood in front of my mirror with that guitar on. . . and I knew then that's what had been missing."

5. "Basically, I was pretty ostracized in my hometown. Me and a few other guys were the town freaks- and there were many occasions when we were dodging getting beaten up ourselves."

6. "I can sing very comfortably from my vantage point because a lot of the music was about a loss of innocence, there's innocence contained in you but there's also innocence in the process of being lost."

7. "If they had told me I was the janitor and would have to mop up and clean the toilets after the show in order to play, I probably would have done it."

8. "We learned more from a three minute record than we ever learned in school."

9. "If my work was about anything, it was about the search for identity, for personal recognition, for acceptance, for communion, and for a big country. I've always felt that's why people come to my shows, because they feel that big country in their hearts."

10. "This music is forever for me. It's the stage thing, that rush moment that you live for. It never lasts, but that's what you live for."

Bruce Springsteen isn't just a good performer or a great singer. He's actually a man of wisdom too. When he sings his songs, he's not just doing it to entertain -- sometimes he's trying to teach us something too. These ten Bruce Springsteen quotes give us some insight into that fact

Promote Your Home Business

It's an exciting adventure that you're about to begin by being self-employed. It's time to let everyone know about your soon-to-be successful company by promoting your home business.

While hiring a marketing or public relations firm is an easy option, since you are just starting out, it may be a tool you cannot yet afford. If this is the case, it is up to you to develop different media means to promote your home business.

The most obvious is starting a Web site. There are many freelancers out there who would gladly do this for you for a fee, but this is not really necessary if you have basic computer skills. Several sites are dedicated to instructing you on a step-by-step procedure on how to create a Web site for promoting your home business. Many provide usage for a price, but there are some out there which you can use for no cost at all. This would be a practical option. A free site might not offer all the flourishes of a paid-for one, but as your first priority would be simply promoting your home business, other features, graphics and designs can be added once the money starts rolling in and you have extra cash to spend on creating a stand out site.

Writing a weekly or monthly newsletter is also a great marketing tool in promoting your home business. Fill the copy with your personal background, services provided and costs involved. Update your newsletter with savings advertisements, new services offered and comments from pleased customers when promoting your home business through a newsletter.

While posting a link or subscriber option to your web site for the newsletter is a given, additional initiative must be taken as part of promoting your home business. Obtain e-mail addresses of several companies or individuals who might be interested in using your services. Search for the addresses of actual people rather than sending a letter promoting your home business to a general business site. You are then taking the risk of becoming a deleted spam file.

If your home business is a local one, such as a day care or accounting service, advertise in your local newspapers and trade magazines. Coupons always catch a consumers eye, so including them in your ad would be a key tool in promoting your home business. Offering a 10 percent discount is always a plus.

Also, holding contests with prizes would catch they eye of a newspaper or magazine browser. Consider making the prize a week of free service or a sales item.

Lastly, get some business cards together as part of promoting your home business. You can design and print them using a home computer or pay a professional printer who may have additional design ideas that would capture consumer's attention. Distribute your business cards to individuals and companies, and post them in every store that offers a free advertising billboard.

Therapy Hydrating Handcream - Apicare - 125g Therapy Hydrating Handcream - Apicare - 125g
Description
This intensely hydrating hand cream contains nourishing volumes of active botanicals to revive tired hands and feed the skin. Includes some of nature's finest moisturisers - Active Manuka Honey, Shea Butter and the oils of Jojoba, Rosehip and Sweet Almond to bring you a natural treatment for your hands. What Makes Manuka Honey Special?Research at Waikato University has shown that all varieties of honey have some anti-bacterial activity. Manuka Honey tested as having a much higher level of activity, up to 30 times greater than the other honeys tested. How does honey prevent bacterial growth? There are four main components that explain the antibacterial activity.Osmotic effect: The high sugar content of honey means that there are very few water molecules available making it difficult for micro-organisms to establish. In fully ripened honey no yeast species are able to grow and the growth of many species of bacteria is completely inhibited. Acidity: The pH of honey is characteristically quite low (3.2-4.5), which is low enough to inhibit many animal pathogens and therefore be a significant antibacterial factor. Hydrogen Peroxide: When bees are turning nectar to honey they secrete a glucose oxidase enzyme. One of the by products of the resultant reaction is hydrogen peroxide. When honey is diluted enzyme activity increases giving a 'slow release' antiseptic at a level which is antibacterial but not tissue damaging. Phytochemical Factors: The above factors can not account for all of the antibacterial activity observed. There have been several chemicals with antibacterial activity isolated in honey (see Waikato Honey Research Unit's website for additional information) by various researchers. This may explain the high level of activity seen in Manuka honey. Your BEAUTY SHOP for HAND CREAM and other MANUKA HONEY SKIN CARE PRODUCTS

Learn How to Make Your Own Parfume

The perfume business is a massive one; fashion designers have their own perfumes, celebrities have their own perfumes, even sports stars have their own fragrances. So, why can't you create your own perfume? Well, you can, but it may not be in every Harrods or Selfridges store around the world; but you can certainly be able to make a perfume to have at home to save money buying the expensive brands.

Of course, making perfume is particularly easy, but if you have the nose for a good fragrance and you have the creativity to make a perfume; there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to successfully create your own brand to have at home! Something you may have in the house already that can be used to make perfumes is essential oils. There are also specialty oils that you can buy from certain perfume suppliers that are just for making fragrances to wear.

Essential oils are what is extracted from living plants; the essences are taken out of the plant. It may surprise you to learn that only 200 plants produce the oils that are used in the art and the science of perfumery. Essential oils should never be directly applied to the skin as they are very strong and intense. They will need diluting before use. There are two types of essential oils sold for perfumes and that is those that need diluting in alcohol, and those that need diluting in oil.

Creating your own perfume will require a certain amount of trial and error, and experimentation. This is all part of the learning process and will make your nose better and more accurate for the scents. What is a good idea at the beginning is to have as many different oils as you possibly can, and that your budget will allow. This is so you can experiment more and create a unique fragrance.

The types of fragrances are in certain groups that you will need to know. Some are categorized depending on their origin, for example, fruits, flowers, animals, roots, herbs, etc. Some are placed into groups after this categorization: floral (rose, lily of the valley), animal (civet, musk), green (pine, lavender) and woody/spicy (cinnamon, cedarwood, clove).

You may also be familiar with the following updated categories for fragrances and types: citrus, fruity, herbal, spicy, gourmand, earthy, and floral. It is always a good idea to try and have a few oils and scents from each category. This makes it easy for you to mix and match and see what group goes well with each other.

From the citrus group, you could opt for grapefruit, mandarin, tangerine or perhaps lime. From the spicy group of scents you could go for ginger or maybe cinnamon. In the herbal category, you could use cucumber, sage and rosemary. Fruit scents to use could be green apple, strawberry or even pear. In the gourmand category there is fragrances such as vanilla which is very popular in famous fragrances. Floral fragrances could be ylang ylang, jasmine, rose and chamomile. Earth scents are honey, musk, amber and sandalwood.

There are so many beautiful scents available that you may find it difficult to choose which to start with. A good rule of thumb is to go for the ones that you love the most. Remember that it is you who will be wearing it after all!

Gold and Platinum Diamond Engagement Ring

Gold and Platinum Diamond Engagement Ring

This ring combines two of the all-time classic engagement ring designs; the solitaire, and the three-across. The center stone is definitely the star of this show, but rather than having a solitaire, our designers wanted to add that little something extra, and the perfect choice was diamonds of course! They’ve accomplished this brilliantly by placing a lovely, round diamond on either side of the center stone. What’s even more fabulous about this ring is that you call the shots! You can choose exactly which center stone you’d like, either half a carat, ¾ carat, 1 carat, or a lovely 1.5 carat stone. The band on this ring is a squared edge, and can be crafted in your choice of white or yellow gold, or platinum! Talk about divine!

Top 10 tips For Getting the Right credit card

Dodging through the Maze and Getting The Best Deal Going

Purchasing any financial product can be a difficult matter. The marketplace is one fraught with complications and offers are thrown your way from all directions. Sometimes it can all seem overwhelming. Who do you buy from? Who do you believe? What is the right deal for YOU?

To simplify matters, and make it easier for you to get the best deal possible, we’ve compiled our top ten tips for getting the right credit card.

1) The first and most important thing to understand before you consider any financial product, particularly a credit card, is this: You must have income sufficient to pay your current bills and overheads PLUS at the very least your credit card minimums payment each and every month. Ideally you should aim to pay back as much of your balance as possible month on month. Ensure that you do, and the ball’s rolling…

2) Consider just how much you can afford to borrow. Credit card companies operate by pumping up your credit limit until it reaches the stage where you’re so ensnared by the lure of cheap finance that you have followed the balance right up to the top. When this happens consumers can only pay back the minimum balance – around 2.5 per cent of the overall balance – each month. Given the high interest rates involved, this can mean paying back as little as just one of a percent off the balance each month. It doesn’t take a math genius to figure out the problems that this can cause. Operate a maximum balance rule and abide by it. If you’re unsure of whether you’re disciplined enough to follow it, get the credit card company to lower you limit accordingly. If you’re sure that you can afford a credit card in the first place, and follow no other rule – then follow this one!

3) Boost your credit rating as much as possible before actually applying for a credit card. The better your credit rating, the lower your interest repayments and the less money that will end up in the hands of the lender. You can do this in a variety of easy ways in the months before you apply for your credit card. Paying your bills in a timely manner; closing unused retail store cards, credit cards and old bank accounts with overdraft facilities all help. Likewise if you have maintained a healthy and long-standing arrangement with a bank or other lender. Don’t apply for a stack of credit cards, loans and so on, unless you’re absolutely sure it’s the right product for you. It goes without saying that you should never apply for a credit line unless you use it.

4) If you have or have had credit rating problems, it’s definitely worth applying to a credit reference agency, like Experian, and checking it out. As with all companies errors unfortunately happen all the time. Erroneous reports of missed payments, referrals to debt collectors and even bankruptcies can scupper your chances of getting a low rate of interest and even a credit card altogether. It’s vital that you get rid of black marks on your credit rating. Query everything and haggle with credit reference agencies so that only the information that is listed on your credit history that should be there, is there.

5) Transferring the balance of your credit card to another one is a way of paying off your existing debt at a cheaper rate. In many cases this can be set at 0 per cent for a period of a number of months, before reverting to a higher rate. By switching to such a card – and then another at the end of the interest free term, and maybe even another after that – it gives you a clear run at reducing your debt, without it spiraling ever further upwards. Even if you’re still only paying 2.5 per cent off the balance a month, far better to do that than knocking off one half of a per cent, or less.

6) If you have no debt obligations, are patient and diligent, and want to get one over the credit companies while making a tidy profit yourself, keep reading. Scan the market for credit cards offering ‘Super Balance Transfers’ – where you can transfer money into your bank account at 0% for a fixed time – and take one out. Max it out and transfer it into a high interest bank account. Don’t touch it. Now, ensure you make the minimum payment each month and pay the balance off at the end with the money you’ve banked. When all that’s done, you should be pleasantly surprised with the nest egg of interest left over in your savings account.

7) If a bad credit card is all that’s available to you, it is best that you use it as little as possible and pay off the balance in full at the end of every month. Don’t use it for big purchases as interest is likely to be high. By proving that you are a responsible lender with a high interest credit card, your credit rating will go up and cards with lower APRs will be made available to you in the fullness of time.

8) Consumers who spend on a card, but don’t clear the debt each month should focus on minimizing the interest cost. Search the market for the lowest purchase rate available, but also keep in mind the day when you’ll clear the balance in full (e.g. bonus time; when your bonds mature, etc.) and don’t let the balance spiral beyond your means.

9) If you pay off your balance in full each month then the interest rate is irrelevant. Focus instead on the gains available from using the card for spending. The key to this is the reward scheme offered. Many credit cards offer points schemes or even cash-back. There’s a huge array of different schemes, but by picking the right one you can benefit substantially. It’s often simpler just to go for a Cashback card, where the benefits are more apparent, but sometimes reward schemes offer great inducements – particularly when they offer double points to new customers, and so on.

10) The minute you think you might have a credit card debt problem, do something to redress it. Help and advice is always at hand and things are usually less bad than they first seem.

Flea Control

Fleas can be a real problem if you have a pet in your home. We learned from our vet that the best way to control fleas is to treat both your home and your pet simultaneously.
Last summer, we added a new pet to our family - our cat, Ally. She was a sweet, shorthaired, stray kitten that we picked up from a neighbor's house. Ally had one problem though - fleas. She was completely infested with them, which in turn, infested our home with them. We tried everything to get rid of those pesky blood-suckers, including flea collars, indoor foggers, and bathing her with flea shampoo. And everyone knows how much cats hate water! Nothing that we tried worked. Just when we thought we were rid of them, more would hatch.
We even considered putting Ally back outside, but we decide to try one more thing before resorting to such drastic measures. We took her to the vet, where we were provided with more effective flea foggers and a flea spray for our home called Siphotrol Plus II. We used these to kill the fleas in our house while Ally was at the vet getting a flea dip. They also treated her with Frontline Plus, which was applied to the back of her neck. Our trip to the vet wound up costing about $150, but it was worth it. We were rid of the fleas, and we were able to keep Ally in the house.
We were instructed to reapply the Frontline Plus monthly, however, we found another product at our local Co-op that is much cheaper than Frontline Plus and seems to work well so far. It is called Flea Halt! and is made by Farnam Pet Products.

The Latest News on Spa Chemicals

If you are considering getting a spa installed in or outside of your home then you will need to know about spa chemicals or you will quickly have a problem. If you already have a spa at your place and are just now learning about spa chemicals than you already have a problem.

This is because a spa is the perfect setting for bacteria to breed, with a warm water temperature and things like dead skin cells floating around in it. The fact is, that poorly maintained spa water has led to people getting very sick and in some instances hospitalized.

Even so, it is not unusual for people to get mild skin rashes from poorly maintained spa water. The good news is that testing the water in your spa and adding the proper chemicals in the correct amounts is easier then it ever has been before thanks to new developments in spa chemicals.

There are even automatic dispensers available that will slowly trickle in the spa chemicals for you while you sleep. There is no need for messing with chemicals any more because spa chemicals are available also in tablet form that you simply plunk into the water.

Spa chemicals are either bromine or chlorine based and some people prefer one over the other. Some people have a bad reaction to the chlorine or they may find the smell of it offensive, so you may want to consider bromine if that is the case.

You can easily find spa chemical kits online that you can keep handy to test and treat your spas water any time that you like. Remember that a spa that is receiving heavy use will need to have its water checked and treated more often then one that is used infrequently.

Top 5 Famous Dna Tests

DNA tests are not usually mainstream news on the world’s media, but that isn’t to say there aren’t important or high profile DNA testing cases to report. In fact, over the last few decades DNA testing has played a growing role in the way we analyse the past and the way we interpret our future. Be it the determation of paternity through DNA Paternity testing or in establishing wider DNA links such as DNA forensic cases, our top 5 famous DNA tests reveal just how relevant DNA testing really is.

1. Thomas Jefferson – Thomas Jefferson was the third President of the United States of America, and is widely considered as one of the leading Founding Fathers of the modern constitution. However his image has been somewhat marred by allegations with origins of over 200 years that he had fathered children to his slave, Sally Hemmings. After DNA samples were recovered from relevant parties, it was determined that the alleged child Eston Hemmings did in fact share genetic material on the male side with Thomas Jefferson, although no firm conclusions were drawn as to whether that connection was with Jefferson personally.

2. Marie Antoinette – French Queen and icon of history, Marie Antoinette was recently subject to advanced DNA sampling and testing techniques. DNA from a hair supposed to have been that of Antoinette was collected and tested with DNA obtained from the heart of King Louis XVII. Thanks to the advancement of DNA processing technologies, the samples were able to be matched to determine that a genetic link did in fact exist between the DNA samples, confirming the identity of the hair.

3. Anna Nicole Smith – TV personality and model Anna Nicole Smith was thrust to the forefront of media scrutiny in her high-profile celebrity DNA testing case, where the paternity of her daughter was put to question. Initially, partner Howard K. Stern nominated himself as the likely father on national television, sparking the media storm surrounding the testing process - although DNA paternity testing methods ultimately proved ex-husband Larry Birkhead as the biological father of the child.

4. Eddie Murphy – Modern comedy legend Eddie Murphy was involved in a high profile DNA testing case which particularly attracted the media spotlight and filled glossy column inches. His test was to establish paternity of the daughter of Melanie Brown (a.k.a. Mel B) of Spice Girls fame during a separation process. It was determined, following the collection and processing of samples from the child, mother and alleged father, that Eddie Murphy was indeed the father of his ex-partner’s child.

5. James Brown – The so-called ‘Godfather of Soul’ James Brown was subject to one of the most high profile DNA testing cases in recent history. The testing considered whether alleged children of the musician were in fact fathered by him, and a number of separate DNA paternity tests were processed in order to establish paternity. Of the 12 test submitted, only 2 have turned up to be positively identified as Brown’s offspring – one of which is now a 45-year old woman.

In conclusion, it is clear to see from the above examples, the power of DNA testing and the role this has, and will continue to have, in our lives.

The 4 Ways To Grow Your Business In 2009

I dont know about you but I am sick and tired about hearing and reading about how the world in which we live in is such a terrible place. Yes, it is far from ideal but does turning on the television, radio or picking up a newspaper only to hear of recession, poverty and strife really help us?

I for one, suspect it doesnt and whilst I am not suggesting you should bury your head in the marketing sand and assume everything is rosy and perfect in the world, I am suggesting that if you approach 2008 and beyond with the right attitude and mindset your chances of success will increase. And so with it will the chances of you and your customers being more successful.

The truth is many of your competitors and your customers are worried about what the New Year and the future holds for their businesses and livelihoods. There is nothing wrong with being concerned about a possible worldwide recession, falling house prices and rising interest rates to name a few things but likewise there will also be great opportunities for companies to flourish even in the hardest of times. In fact, I would argue that it is in the times of hardship that companies with the skills to out market their competitors will really see the greatest benefits.

You see, marketing when times are good is a lot easier as companies have more money to spend on marketing, advertising and on promoting their business. And customers (and potential customers) have more disposal income and are therefore more likely to buy products and services.

However, when times are tough every cent or penny is accounted for and counts more than ever so companies who can differentiate their products and services better than their competition have a much better chance of being successful. And whilst money and cash flow might be at the forefront of most companies minds I certainly would not encourage a total shift in your marketing strategy to focus on the cheapest is best route. People and businesses ultimately want value for money from the products and services they buy and this applies equally in times of hardship as it does when times are good.

2008 for the global economy and for you and I might be tough. It might be a struggle but if you dwell on the negatives that are constantly thrown at you I guarantee this will have an adverse effect on your business.

The New Year for many people is a time for change and new opportunities. From wanting to lose weight and give up tobacco on a personal level to wanting to increase your profits and grow your business on a professional one.

For smart marketers 2009 holds amazing opportunities so my tips for success this year are:

Tip 1 for Success in 2009

Focus on the positives and dont get drawn into all the negative hype that is thrown at you from the media or politicians

Tip 2 for Success in 2009

Surround yourself with likeminded positive people

Tip 3 for Success in 2009

Become truly great at marketing your product or service (or find someone to do it for you)

Tip 4 for Success in 2009

Remember that YOU are ultimately what will make the difference between the next 12 months and beyond being successful or not

How to Get Crazy Website Traffic

What is crazy traffic? Crazy traffic is when you are getting so much traffic and subscribers that you no longer care where it all came from. Crazy traffic is when you are getting 300, 400 visitors a day and half of them subscribe. Many of them buy your product everyday. That is crazy traffic.

So how do you do it?

1) Write and submit articles like crazy. Mass breeds response. When you have one article, well that is OK. But when you have 50, 100, 500, now you are an expert. Find the top 20 article sites and submit several articles a day.

2) Forum post like crazy. Remember one thing: do not spam the forums. Put your URL in your signature and answer posts. Only answer posts you know the answer to and are willing to give in the reply. Do not hawk your site like a used car salesman. Once people in the forum see your name a lot, and recognize your signature, they will begin clicking just for the simple fact that they have seen it so much and they have to know more about you.

3) Network like crazy. There are literally thousands of people online that would LOVE to trade traffic with you. Offer to mail their offer to your list in exchange for mailing a link to your opt-in page. Don't try to sell their customers, just get them to opt-in to your list, so you can mail them and follow up later with product recommendations.

4) If you are spending money on traffic, develop crazy pay-per-click campaigns. I know it is easy to go overboard. Monitor everything you do, and keep track of subscribers, but the more PPC ads you have that art fine tuned, the more traffic you will get. So continuously add and test new keywords.

5) Give everyone on your list some crazy thing free. Today. Just send it to them. Tell them to give it to their friends. (Just make sure it has your link in it!)

6) Create a crazy offer for potential JV partners. Focus on sending their customers to your site. Focus on making subscribers out of their customers.

7) Link-build like crazy. Trade links with everyone you can---but do not use link farms or any other commercial method of building links. Do it the hard way, the old-fashioned way--one link at a time.

Top-10

Most Expensive Countries for Smokers

The struggle against smoking is taking place around the world. Some countries imposed tobacco producers with huge taxes. However, numerous studies have shown that these measures do not force people to stop cigarettes smoking.

Research Institute of Tobacco Free Society painted map of Europe, selected an average cost of 20 cigarette packets and indicating of smoking bans. According to “pipe” the most expensive cigarettes are in the northern part of Europe, and the cheapest cigarettes are in the east.

Most unlucky smokers are in Norway, the first place in the rating: pack of cigarettes costs 8.02 euros at the average. On the 1st January 2004 the government imposed a tight excise tax on cigarettes, the result - the cost of the cigarettes packs in one day increased by 47%.

Place Country The cost of the packet in euros

1 Norway 8.02

2 Iceland 7.57

3 UK 7.36

4 Ireland 6.35

5 France 5.00

6 Germany 4.47

7 Sweden 4.26

8 Denmark 4.16

9 Finland 4.10

10 Switzerland 4.06

Iceland takes the second place. Here one pack of cigarettes costs 7.57 euros. It is interesting that the name of the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik, is translated as "fuming" Bay, but the "tobacco wars" soon suppressed all cigarette outbursts. Since 1999, in Iceland have banned smoking in the educational, medical, and government institutions, as well as in cinemas. Bars and restaurants have not come under the ban yet, but only received references for settlement of rooms for non-smokers.

Smoking in Britain is not a cheap pleasure too. For the one cigarettes pack British smoker should pay 7.36 euros at the average. But soon the price for cigarettes packs may drop: the European Court of Justice called on Britain taxed European products (including alcohol and cigarettes) on the country of law. But that does not save inveterate smokers, because from February 2006, smoking is forbidden in the workplace and it is forbidden in pubs and disco clubs from 1 July 2007.

Moreover, some tobacco companies produce not expensive cigarettes to struggle with smoking. Inversely, it is part of their advertising strategy. For example, a pack of British Treasurer will cost you minimum $30. The Chancellor company makes no secret of the fact that they set price relying exclusively on the top brand name.

But the highest prices for cigarettes, perhaps, in California's jails, where we observed the last smoking ban. This led to overtake tobacco became a shadow of trafficking drugs and alcohol. For example, to buy a pack of Marlboro cigarettes in prison one should pay $ 160, a tobacco seller get $ 5 000 per month.

10 Ways to Bring Meaning to Your Life

My life always appears to be so hectic. It's as if I purposely overload myself with more things than I could possibly ever accomplish. As I'm going to sleep I think about all the things I need to get done And when I'm awake during the day I think about all the things that need to get done. Take a shower, make coffee, eat breakfast, brush my teeth, go to work, etc... It's almost as if at the end of the day I can truly ask myself, "where did the day go?" Enough of these and I can ask myself the same questions in weeks, months, or even years!

So when I feel like these questions are coming up, I do some brief exercises that help bring me to the present moment and remind myself that I'm living.

1. For 5 minutes: Whatever you are doing, just do it slightly slower. At work we are all given tasks to do. One time per day, for 5 minutes do that task a little bit slower. Do not do the task in slow motion, or take breaks from the task, simply do it a little bit slower.

2. Take 5 minutes at lunch to notice what you're eating. You can actually do this at an meal, or anytime you eat. You are going to notice what your food looks like, how it smells, feels, and tastes. As you pick up your food, notice the texture of it, is it bumpy, smooth, wet? Notice what you smell. As you take it in your mouth notice how it feels in your mouth, notice the tastes that are coming out of it, how your teeth break it down. As you swallow it, notice it going down your throat. Do the same with the drink.

3. Take 3 minutes to just sit and notice your breath. Sit in a place of your choice, could be behind your desk, or anywhere. Close your eyes. For 3 minutes simply pay attention to your breath. For these 3 minutes your breath gets your undivided attention. If you notice yourself thinking about something, even the thought "why am I doing this stupid exercise", just notice that your're thinking that and then gently bring your attention back to your breath.

4. Wash the Dishes. If you're not used to doing dishes, there will be many benefits to this one. As you begin to wash the dishes, notice the texture of the plate and the warmth of the water on your hands. Inhale and notice if there is any scent. Listen to hear the rush of the water or any other sounds that are happening around you. Not only will you be able to practice being in the moment, but many of your family and friends will be thrilled with you.

5. Take a Bath or Shower. Preferably a bath if you have one, but even with a shower, you can take your moment in the shower or bath to feel the warmth of the water or feel how your body is immersed in the water. How does your skin feel? Do you notice any smells? Is your hair wet. Just be in the moment and notice all your senses....breathe.

6. Make Love Slightly Slower for a few moments. As you are making love to your significant other, take a moment to purposely move slightly slower. As you do this begin to mentally feel over all parts of your body. How your skin feels when touching his/hers, how are you breathing? Are you sweating? Is there a scent in the air. Take a moment and really be there making love.

7. Smell a flower for an extra breath. This one I love. Often times I will be passing by a flower and if I remember to smell it, I take an extra inhalation to really get the full experience of the scent. You will be surprised how much that extra inhalation makes a difference in the experience.

8. Be Silly. I'm serious;). Being silly allows your creative juices to flow and your creative juices is what life is all about. Letting yourself be silly can also be very relaxing and create joyful situations that are full of meaning.

9. Write a letter to someone close to you... telling them how much you appreciate them. This is not a new idea by any stretch yet it is always worth mentioning since it is so meaningful. A letter that that person will always cherish.

10. Remind yourself that you are a miracle. This may be the most important. How they heck did any of us get here? When we break it down to nanotechnology and quantum physics, scientists are stumped to figure out the great mystery of us physically being here and interacting and creating symbols and concepts and communicating.

It's boggling. That's why our moments on this earth are so precious and it is a wonderful gift to attempt to cultivate those moments in life that you consider to be sacred.

You get the idea...try it out.

Tips for Easy Healthy Vegetarian Recipes

There is no truth to the rumor that vegetarians have difficult recipes to follow and that not following complicated recipes will result in bland food. The truth is that there are so many options for easy healthy vegetarian recipes. The wealth of choices actually makes vegetarianism an exciting journey into healthy food. Here are some things you need to remember when preparing easy healthy vegetarian recipes.

Check the Label

The most convenient way to create healthy recipes is to stock ahead on sauces and ingredients. This way you just have to open packs and cans when you need to whip up something fast. This is generally a good idea especially if you're thinking of canned beans, salsa sauce, dried peas, canned mushrooms and tomato sauce.

You should however always make it a point to read labels before adding unfamiliar ingredients to easy healthy vegetarian recipes. Some products may seem vegetarian but may contain animal based ingredients like gelatin and animal oil. Pure vegans might also want to find out if instant foods contain cheese, milk and other dairy products.

Cook the Same Way

Regular and vegetarian recipes involve the same procedure when it comes to preparation. The only thing lacking is meat. This means that you just have to cook like you always do. Just have a little knowledge to supplement your nutrients and a little creativity to make easy healthy vegetarian recipes as tasty as meat dishes.

Remember that poultry can be found in nuts, beans, legumes and soy based products. Calcium can be obtained from milk and green leafy vegetables. To make your easy healthy vegetarian recipes especially tasty you can experiment with herbs and spices like chilies, oregano, thyme, rosemary and basil.

Don't Overdo Plain Dishes

Serving steamed vegetables, corn and peas are among the most common favorite. They are also obviously easy healthy vegetarian recipes. Sometimes though, you might want to cut back on these basic dishes so that your family doesn't get too bored with the same taste. Serve the same dishes but maybe you can sauté these food items first with some tasty onions, garlic and some pepper.

Serve Healthy Snacks

In some cases, all it takes to prepare and serve better recipes is a little more time. To make sure that your family members don't come home hungry and ready for a big meal at six, serve them healthy snacks to delay their craving for dinner. Pack some nuts, dried fruits, fruit mixes, crackers and cheese for them to take to school or work.

Serve Raw and Simple

Raw vegetarianism is still considered a controversial issue but those who stand by it maintain that it is the healthiest way of life and is the greatest source of easy healthy vegetarian recipes. You might want to try one night in seven as a raw night. Raw foods are considered healthy because they lose none of their nutrients through heat in the cooking process. More rigid raw eaters simply blend fruits and vegetables. You may however just want to settle for simple salads with delicious dips and sauces.

Vinyl Banner Design Tips

Vinyl banner design is about as easy as it gets for the non-professional graphic designer. Generally speaking, a vinyl banner is easy to design. Anybody with a little bit of graphic design experience can design a banner. And even if you have no experience, your supplier can point you in the right direction, or even design your banner for a small charge.

Here are some things to watch for when designing a vinyl banner...

1. Use software that handles CMYK full color output. There are at least three kinds of software you can use:

- Image editors like Photoshop, PhotoPaint, or PhotoImpact

- Page Layout programs like Quarkxpress, Pagemaker, or InDesign

- Illustration programs like Illustrator or CorelDraw

Generally speaking, programs that are designed for consumers or general office applications are not recommended: e.g., Word, Wordperfect, Publisher, Excel, etc. If you have a specific inquiry, don't hesitate to ask your vinyl banners supplier. A good source of information is your contact person at your vinyl banners supplier.

2. Keep your vinyl banner design simple and striking. The best designs contain two or three basic elements. Usually these will be a photograph, a large headline, and an "identifier" such as your company name, logo, or phone number.

3. Use bright colors. The most striking vinyl banners have lots of bright colors.

4. Design your vinyl banner so it is readable for your target audience. If it is going on a building or beside a road on a fence, or on an outfield fence at a baseball or soccer field, MAKE SURE YOUR MOST IMPORTANT MESSAGE IS LARGE ENOUGH TO BE READ.

5. Make sure your images have sufficient resolution. For some advice on image resolution, see the Vinyl Banners FAQ.

6. Make sure your vinyl banner fits the area where you're going to mount it. Don't guess at the size. Most people who are not familiar with signage will UNDERESTIMATE the required size.

7. Consider alternative methods of mounting your vinyl banner. Grommets are the "default" method of mounting a banner on a wall or fence. But often "pole pockets" are simpler and more efficient.

How To Choose And Join The Best Fashion Design School

Fashion design is an upcoming career which is authenticated by many universities. You get a proper degree for it. Fashion design is not an abstract thing, it needs appropriate training and necessary acquaintance with the work required from a fashion design school. A fashion design school can be understood as an institution where people become skilled at creating exclusive designs with fabrics.

Choosing the right place.
There are several factors associated in choosing your future career institute. Same holds in case of a fashion design school. In the recent times, India has seen so many fashion design schools, that you can not take each one of them on similar grounds. These vary in their reputation, fee structure, course structure etc just as you would do in case of your engineering or medicine schools. Before joining a fashion design school, one needs to take care of the following things. Firstly, think on your area of specialism in the fashion world.

To a common man, fashion might seem a piece of cake, but actually it has many branches associated to it. After deciding, look for the fashion design school offering it. Secondly, find out the facts like location, course offered, fee structure, degree level, placements and the total cost associated. There is a difference between the fee structure and the total cost required.

Fashion being a practical thing, inculcates huge cost of accessories and fabrics. Thirdly, collect all information and make a list of all the fashion design schools. Apply to them, check out id there are any scholarships or merit distinction. There can be different criteria for admission to different fashion design schools. Lastly, also try to check these institutes personally. After receiving responses to your applications, start considering the best ones.

How to get your foot into the door?
Getting into a fashion design school requires as much work as would been have been for an engineering college. To get an idea of the essential work that needs to be done in a fashion design school, you should talk to the people who are already in this industry for years. The first step towards fashion is the skill of being able to draw it on a piece of paper. Many people might wonder that art and fashion are two different things. Without the drawing, fashion is an abstract thing.

You need the aptitude to outline your ideas on a piece of paper, to communicate it to other people before developing it actually. The very basic requirement of your portfolio depends upon your designs. After that, to make samples of your complete work, you should be able to sew yourself. You will also need a basic knowledge of the use of computers for using several fashion design software's. You might also need references of your mentors in order to find work in large fashion houses.

As we know that a fashion design school is just like a normal school, so getting good grades is also very important. And then you finally see yourself at a fashion design school, you will gain knowledge of many innovative things new marketing tools and fashion design software's.
